Foundmental Space
Here and there of corners in the attic
I found
Moving while shaking
Vivid darkness
- Pierre Reverdy, ¡¸½Ã°£ÀÇ ´ëºÎºÐ¡¹
Many people are in possession of memories on houses where they grew up. The behavior residing in a certain space is covered with conscious and sub-conscious values which can not be forgotten by sub-consciousness. Like a space linking to humid basement and attic space of unlimited imaginations, the memories of the house during childhood unintentionally bring about sub-conscious memories. The house which we were born and grew up in and is now far distant gives strong impression since it testifies further cozy protection. The house has not only the function as a shelter from coldness, hotness, storms and rains but also individual history in one¡¯s own reflection. The house is a shelter, clandestine point and center. The theme has thousands of different versions so that it can be said a good-for-nothing universe.
The houses with temporary and variable features in my works are a kind of me during child during juvenile period which I remember. Through my works, I incrementally ¡®open¡¯ my wounds and gradually treat myself. Through my works, however, I hide myself and return to the position of observer. I desire to provide room for subjective translation to those enjoy my works.
