미술사 인물 <동행시리즈> 작업에 대하여
고독한 예술의 길을 걷는 예술가에게 연인이나 벗으로서 동행했거나, 혹은 후원자로서 도움을 주었던 사람들. 혹은 스승으로서 그들의 예술세계에 지대한 영향을 끼쳤던 사람들, 그들은 모두 예술가의 동반자들이다. <동행>시리즈는 그들의 사랑과 우정, 혹은 존경과 숭배, 또는 쓰라린 애증과 결별까지도 작품의 소재로 삼는다. '승용차'는 동행의 느낌을 효과적으로 살릴 수 있는 훌륭한 상징적 기제다. 과거의 인물들을 현대의 화면에 불러내어 현대적 재구성을 하는데도 그것은 매우 유리했다. 운전석을 중심으로 한 승용차 내부를 기본 프레임으로 예술가와 그 동반자의 동행 장면을 구성해보고자 했다.

The series of "going together"
For all of those who accompanied artists, in their lonely passage of arts, as a mate or a friend, supported artists as sponsors, or affected artists' world of arts as teachers are companions, 'Go in company' embraces their love and friendship; respect and cult; or bitter love-and-hate relationship.
'Automobile' was a great symbolic work that could effectively express the meaning of being together. It also worked well in the piece that tried to reconstruct people from the past, an artist and a companion, within the inner frame, the driver's seat positioned at the center, of a modern automobile
