작가노트

회화는 비가시적인 영역을 가시적 영역으로 끌어내는 작업이다.
하지만 회화가 가진 가시성이 확정된 의미를 가져야만 하는 것은 아니다.
미셀 푸코의 말처럼 회화 작업에서 가장 중요한 가치는 미스터리이며
그것은 가시성과 비가시성 사이에서 환기되는 것일 뿐이지 어떤 확정된 의미를 갖지 않는다.
미스터리는 그야말로 알 수 없는 것이다. 그러므로 우리가 어떤 작품을 바라봄에 있어서
그 가시적 이미지가 지시하는 대상과 상징을 찾으려고 노력하는 것 자체가 바라보기를 통해 충족 시키고자 했던 스스로의 욕구를 거스르는 일이 될 수 밖에 없다.
나 또한 작업을 통해 어떤 유의미성을 담으려는 의지는 갖고 있지 않다.
다만 비가시적인 것을 가시화하고 그렇게 만들어진 가시적 이미지의 언어적 당위성을
파괴함으로 해서 내가 경험하고 있는 세상이 무엇이었는지를 보고 싶을 뿐이다.
이는 직관 될 수 있는 세계에 대한 일련의 탐험이다.


The painting is to make invisible things visible one.
However, visibility of painting does not have to have a define meaning.
Paul Michel Foucault said the most important thing in painting is ‘mystery’
And it means mystery awaked between visibility and invisibility ? just does not have the meaning which is established.
Mystery is really something unknown.
Therefore, if we trying to find the target that visible images and symbols pointed, as a way to enjoy a work,
it will be the reverse about the needs of your own to satisfy ourselves by watching.
I also do not have any intention to include some signification in my work..
Just I paint visible images from invisible things and I want see the World I have experienced by breaking probability of images that I made.
What am I in this World? That is what I want see.
May be this is a series of exploring of the intuitive world.
